Founded in 2007, LeddarTech is an industry leader providing the most versatile, scalable auto and mobility LiDAR platform based on the unique LeddarEngine, which consists of a suite of automotive-grade and functional safety certified systems on chip (SoCs) working in tandem with the LeddarSP signal processing software.
With close to 180 employees in Québec City, Montréal, Toronto and Linz (Austria), the company aims to improve safety and quality of life for travelers, commuters, workers, and mobility industry professionals by enabling applications that reduce traffic congestion, minimize the risk of road accidents, and improve the overall efficiency of road transport.
In 2017, LeddarTech signed a multi-year joint development agreement with automotive giant Magneti Marelli, which holds 40% of the global headlight and rear light market for automobiles. The Italian company has also become a strategic investor in LeddarTech.
Through this strategic partnership, LeddarTech has developed innovative technology specifically for Magneti Marelli’s Smart Corner. The Italian company’s modular solution provides OEMs with advanced lighting performance and an autonomous driving sensor suite in one highly integrated system (cameras, radars and LiDars).
This partnership, which highlights the complementarity between Canadian know-how and Italian expertise in the industrial sector, has also been named the prestigious Innovation Award Honoree of CES 2019 (Consumer Electronics Show), the most important exhibition dedicated to technological innovation in consumer electronics.
