Trade mission to Italy : Prime Minister Trudeau addresses the Italian Parliament

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau praised international trade and CETA in a speech at the Italian Parliament today, in Rome.

Delegates from the trade mission, along with Minister François-Philippe Champagne, had the opportunity to attend the Prime Minister’s address.

Pietro Grasso, President of the Italian Senate : “Thanks to the community of Italian origin, the ties between Italy and Canada are strong. The CETA is a starting point for other agreements, on the subject of the fight against terrorism, migration and others.

Laura Boldrini, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy : “Canada is an example of multiculturalism, of hospitality, of equal opportunity, of respect for the environment.

Earlier in the day, Minister of International Trade, François-Philippe Champagne, addressed more than 150 members of Rome’s business community, encouraging them to seize the opportunity offered by CETA.
