Stéphane Gagnon – Université du Québec en Outaouais

Stéphane Gagnon is Associate Professor of Business Technology Management in the Department of Administrative Sciences at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO).

Before joining UQO in 2006, he taught at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (2002-2006), Université du Québec à Montréal (1997-2002), McGill University (2000), as well as in a dozen other institutions in 10 countries as a part-time professor.

In 2001, he obtained a Ph.D. in business administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), specializing in technology management and strategy (1994-2001). He also completed an M.A. in Public Administration from Carleton University (1991-1994) and a B.Soc.Sc. in International Economics and Politics, University of Ottawa (1988-1991).

His research focuses on digital transformation and big data analytics, applied to the healthcare, energy, and financial services industries, as well as public administration.

Among various projects, he leads a research network to develop the first BTM Body of Knowledge (BOK). This initiative will result in the first unified guide for the BTM profession, identifying common core competencies among several interrelated standards, and ensuring that practitioners at all levels can easily identify their best opportunities for professional growth.
