Riccardo Lasagni Manghi – University of Bologna
Post-Doctoral Researcher / University of Bologna & European Space Agency
Riccardo is a Junior Assistant Professor at the Radioscience and Planetary Exploration Laboratory of the University of Bologna, specializing in orbit determination and gravity science for space missions toward small bodies.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy and a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. In 2021, he defended his Ph.D. thesis on the reconstruction of the heliocentric orbit of Comet 67P using radiometric data collected by the Rosetta mission.
He is a core member of the dynamics working group of ESA’s Hera mission, working mostly on gravity science. Since 2022, he has been a visiting researcher at the European Space Operations Center (ESOC), collaborating with the Flight Dynamics team to develop orbit determination tools for Hera.
He is a co-author in several peer-reviewed publications and conference proceedings in the fields of Solar System dynamics, deep space navigation, and radiometric data calibration.
