Regional Minister for Education, University, Research and Digital Agenda / Emilia-Romagna Region

Born in Bologna in 1966, she is a wife and a mother.
She graduated in Information Science at the University of Bologna in 1992 magna cum laude, and worked as a sub teacher in two Commercial Technical Institutes during her studies.
In 1995 she moved to Cesena and became researcher in Computer Science and Engineering at the Alma Mater Studiorum Cesena Campus, where she became associate Professor in 2001, and later full Professor.
Her researches focus on multimedia systems, technologies for education, human-machine interaction and accessibility of technologies.
With more than 20 years of experience in the field of informatics for education, Paola organized many learning activities for teachers and contributed to relevant projects as the ForTIC plan.
She authored over 170 scientific publications, more than 40 of which on international journals. She also managed several research projects at a national, European, and international level, involving institutions as the UCLA, the University of Toronto, the Italian House of Representatives and the Government of the region Emilia-Romagna.
She served as Vice Rector for Technologies at the University of Bologna from 2015 until early 2020, when she was appointed Regional Minister for Education, University, Research and Digital Agenda of the Emilia-Romagna Region .
