Marthe Kassouf received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Engineering from École Supérieure des Ingénieurs de Beyrouth, Lebanon (1997) and from École Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada (1999), respectively. In 2008, she received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, Canada.
Since 2008, she has been working as a researcher at the Hydro-Québec Research Institute (IREQ), where she has been contributing to the implementation of different projects aiming at the enhancement of the information and telecommunications infrastructure supporting the power grid, mainly in the areas of wireless communication systems, time synchronization and cybersecurity. She has been the project manager for the cybersecurity research project at IREQ since 2018. She is also an adjunct professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University. Active member in the Working Group 15 (WG15) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee (TC) 57 since 2015, she has been contributing to the development of IEC 62351 standards for the cybersecurity of power system information infrastructure.
Her research interests are in telecommunication networks, time synchronization systems, power grid automation, and cybersecurity for smart grids.
