Marco Di Clemente graduated cum laude in Aerospace Engineering and got a Ph.D. degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 2002 and 2008 respectively.

Starting from 2002, Dr. Di Clemente held several positions within the Italian Aerospace Research Centre (CIRA), dealing with Aerothermodynamics and Space Propulsion .

In 2017 Dr. Di Clemente joined the Italian Space Agency where he is currently Responsible of Technology Unit. His duties include the definition and implementation of roadmaps within ASI technology program for all the applicative disciplines and the coordination of ASI activities regarding technology developments at national and international level. The program encompasses the development of critical enabling technologies according to national priorities.

Dr. Di Clemente is member of national delegation at ESA Industrial Policy Committee as advisor, national delegate at Technology Harmonization Advisory Group and Space Component Steering Board and in 2021 he joined the Space Propulsion Committee of Interantional Astronautical Federation (IAF).

 

Dr. Di Clemente is currently the project manager for the realization of Space Factory 4.0, funded by Next Generation EU. Dr. Di Clemente is author of more than 50 publications in peer reviewed international journals and conference proceedings.
