Luigi Lepanto

Dr. Luigi Lepanto is Director of Professional Services in the Medical and University Affairs Division of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). He is also a clinical full professor in the Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology, and Nuclear Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal. He has a secondary affiliation with the Department of Health Management, Evaluation, and Policy at the École de santé publique de l’Université de Montréal (ESPUM), where he directs the master’s program in health technology assessment.
Dr. Lepanto’s work is focused on the impact on the healthcare pathway of new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, on the application of information technologies to health, as well as on complex interventions in which the implementation of technologies is combined with the introduction of process changes in care delivery. He favours an approach grounded in assessing and analyzing data emanating from healthcare settings to foster innovation and facilitate its integration into the health system.
