Giovanni Anceschi
Chief Operating Officer at Energy Way / President and Board chair of ART-ER
Giovanni Anceschi is the President and Board chair of ART-ER, Attractiveness Research Territory, which combines the the Emilia-Romagna Joint Stock Consortium of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the six regional Universities, the Italian research centres CNR, ENEA, INFN, the regional Union of the Chambers of Commerce and other local stakeholders. ART-ER’s aim is to foster sustainable growth by supporting research and innovation activities, technology and knowledge transfer, attractiveness and internationalisation of the regional system.
Giovanni is the Chief Operating Officer of Energy Way, an innovative company established in 2013 in Modena (Italy). He leads research and development activities, by developing mathematical models to allow customers to optimize their industrial processes. The company’s project portfolio comprises projects such as the improvement of waste-to-energy systems or the development of better scheduling algorithms for manufacturers. Energy Way’s clients represent many industries in the utilities, banking, telecom, automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and ceramics sectors.
In 2016, he started a project, AlloraSpengo, aimed at sharing knowledge about digital culture and energy efficiency with secondary schools and local communities, in which students learn how to develop an energy monitor with an open source technology and how to reduce waste energy. Thanks to this project, Giovanni and Energy Way have been awarded several prizes for Corporate Social Responsibility. Giovanni has been recently included in the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.
