Franco Molteni graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 1981 with full marks and honours, specialised in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Milan in 1984 and in 1985 he received the National Award of the Italian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Prof. Franco Molteni is Director of Valduce Hospital Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, “Villa Beretta” Rehab Centre since 2004. He is the Coordinating Director of Clinical Research projects at the Valduce Foundation and Representative of the Valduce Foundation in the Board of Univerlecco. From 2002 and 2006, Prof. Molteni was Director of the Italian Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is a member of the Italian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Italian Society for Clinical Movement Analysis. Since 2002, he is also Consultant at the Neurological Institute “Carlo Besta” IRCCS Foundation in Milan. Since 2020, he is Director of the Master on “Technologies for innovation in rehabilitation medicine and assistance”. He is currently a Senior Research Associated of the Institute of Intelligent Industrial Systems and Technologies for Advanced Manufacturing, in the Italian National Research Council.
He has collaborated with several international partners from USA, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, England, Denmark and Sweden among others, and with several universities in Italy and abroad. Prof. Molteni has led and steered several research projects and scientific collaborations including some funded by the European Commission, the Italian National Council of Research, Cariplo Foundation among others.
