Ettore Rizzo – Co-founder, enGenome

Ettore Rizzo is a co-founder of enGenome (www.engenome.com), a bioinformatics company that has developed a SaaS platform (eVai) that enables geneticists to detect pathogenic genomic variants with unprecedented accuracy and speed. By combining bioinformatics, AI and international guidelines, eVai accurately classifies and prioritizes every genomic variant of a patient, suggesting a list of possible related genetic diagnosis.

Since 2016 he serves as the CEO of the company, where he focuses on business development, strategic planning, fundraising and project management. As a bioinformatician he also contributes to the technological development of enGenome’s products and services.
He received his M.S. in Biomedical Engineering and his PhD in Bioengineering and Bioinformatics from the University of Pavia and an International Executive MBA from EuroMBA, an educational consortium of six renowned European business schools and universities.
Throughout his career he has been involved in different phases of translational research projects collaborating with Universities, Hospitals and Pharmaceutical companies and contributing to more than 20 scientific articles on peer-reviewed journals.
