Elena Pedrini is a molecular biologist in rare skeletal diseases at the Department of Medical Genetics at the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna, Italy. Elena is responsible for the coordination of diagnostic and research activities, mainly focused on the study of the molecular bases responsible for skeletal abnormalities, including the introduction of new diagnostic protocols.
Elena completed her PhD training in Medical Genetics at the Mendel Institute in Rome (Italy). From 2015 to 2018, Elena partecipated as member of the health technical committee at the Italian health ministry.
Elena Pedrini’s specialties include: Lab management, Project management, NGS analyses, mutation detection, translational research mainly focused on rare diseases, staff training, clinical and genetic data management; rare disease Registries; genetic Biobanks.
