David Haight is Director of Economic, International and Regulatory Affairs at the Canadian Space Agency where he oversees research on the socioeconomic benefits of space, international engagement and collaboration, and regulatory affairs. He was previously Chief Economist of the CSA, leading efforts to measure the impact and benefits of the Canadian space sector through the State of the Canadian Space Sector Report – State of the Canadian space sector | Canadian Space Agency (asc-csa.gc.ca).
Mr. Haight was recruited to the federal government over 20 years ago and formerly worked at Statistics Canada and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) in a variety of economic and policy roles, including in the automotive branch. Mr. Haight holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Carleton University and a Master’s degree in Economics from McGill University.
