Alberto Sanna, who graduated in Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, is Director of the Research Center for Advanced Technology in Health & Well-Being at the San Raffaele University Hospital in Milan, Italy, whose program has four integrated research streams: Smarter and Safer Hospital, Healthier and Greener Life, Healthier and Greener City, Healthier and Greener Sea.
He is deeply involved in European Research Framework Programs and has successfully executed 35 projects in FP5, FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe as well as in tech transfer, start up and spin off activities.
During his career he has presented his research in 200+ top level international congresses and has taught academic courses as an adjunct professor at the University of Insubria, University of Milan and the San Raffaele University Vita-Salute.
He is co-founder and mentor of startups (memooria.org, xtramarine.com) patent inventor, author of edutainment videogames & formats, and avant-garde photographer investigating the role of visual arts in socio-technological ecosystems (neffie.eu).
He is President of the Innovation Hub in the Italian Observatory for the Protection of the Sea to promote Well-Being and Sustainability in the Blue Economy.
