On May 6, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada (ICCC) held its Annual General Meeting at Air Canada Tower, in the heart of Montreal’s International District, bringing together members, partners, and business leaders to reflect on a milestone year and present the organization’s strategic priorities for the years ahead.
On this occasion, the ICCC officially unveiled its 2026–2027 Board of Directors, as elected during the evening.
The Assembly renewed the mandates of eight directors for a two-year term: Mr. Gaspare Colletti, Mr. Carmine D’Argenio, Mr. Anthony Della Sala, Mr. Damiano Dussin, Mr. Mark Galardo, Me Paul E. Legault, Mr. Alexandre Lagarde, and Mr. Vito Piazza.
In addition, three new directors were elected to the Board: Mrs. Gina Biscotti, Mr. Paul Caccia, and Brigadier-General (Ret.) Roberto Mazzolin.
The ICCC also extends its sincere gratitude to Ms. Mina Farinacci (BDO), the Honourable Liza Frulla (ITHQ), and Ms. Lisa Giannone (BFL Canada), whose mandates concluded this year, for their longstanding commitment, remarkable contributions, and dedication to the Chamber’s mission over the years.
Beyond the election proceedings, the Annual General Meeting also served as an opportunity to present the ICCC’s new 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, positioning the organization as a key driver of economic development between Canada, Italy, and, more broadly, Europe.
In his address, ICCC President Carmine D’Argenio emphasized the importance of continuing to evolve in response to new economic and geopolitical realities, including market diversification, the strengthening of transatlantic ties, and increased support for Canadian and Italian companies pursuing international growth.
Francesco Biondi Morra, Executive Director of the ICCC, presented an ambitious vision built around three strategic pillars: business and revenue growth, strengthening the Chamber’s positioning and influence, and enhancing organizational capacity. He also highlighted that, in a rapidly evolving global environment, Italy represents a strategic gateway to Europe for Canadian companies, while Canada remains a partner of choice for Italian businesses focused on innovation and North American markets.
The ICCC intends to continue its evolution as a true catalyst for bilateral economic development — supporting businesses, creating concrete opportunities, and strengthening the Canada–Italy–Europe economic corridor.
The evening concluded in a warm and convivial atmosphere with an Italian-inspired cocktail reception presented by Simeoni Inc. and Morso, featuring Chef Mirko D’Agata, recently crowned World Champion at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas in the Neapolitan category.
The ICCC also wishes to warmly thank Mr. Mark Galardo and the entire Air Canada team for their hospitality and valuable collaboration in hosting this AGM.
