New Brunswick’s entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and economic potential were at the heart of a series of meetings led by Francesco Biondi Morra di Belforte, Executive Director of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada (ICCC). His visit aimed to explore trade and investment opportunities between Italy and New Brunswick, highlighting key sectors where strong synergies exist.
Accompanied by Donald Hammond from Opportunities New Brunswick, Francesco met with Daniel Allain, MBA, to explore new avenues for trade, investment, and collaboration between Italy and the province. He also held productive discussions with the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton, focusing on partnerships in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship—sectors where both Italy and New Brunswick have a strong competitive edge.
The visit also showcased New Brunswick’s thriving agribusiness sector, with insightful on-site visits to Magnetic Hill Winery and Verger Beliveau, producers of Scow Cider. These companies exemplify Canadian excellence in sustainability and innovation, demonstrating the province’s potential to expand into international markets.
A key moment of the visit was a discussion with The Honourable Robert Gauvin, Minister of Public Safety and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, and Maud-Andrée Lefebvre, Cheffe de poste at the Bureau du Québec dans les Provinces atlantiques, as the province celebrated the Journée internationale de la Francophonie. Their conversation reaffirmed the deep cultural and economic ties between Canada and Italy, paving the way for new opportunities in trade, investment, and technological collaboration, as both countries seek to diversify their markets.
With a shared vision of innovation, sustainability, and market diversification, these meetings laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between New Brunswick and Italy, ensuring that the province’s technological, agricultural, and business excellence continues to gain international recognition.
