Discovering Milan Through the Legacy of Leonardo da Vinci

On June 16, the ICCC and the City of Milan delegation welcomed travel industry professionals, media representatives, and friends of Italy to an event held as part of the Milano e Leonardo campaign.

Hosted in the historic setting of the Château Ramezay, the initiative highlighted the unique bond between Milan and Leonardo da Vinci. For nearly twenty years, the Renaissance master lived and worked in the Lombard capital, leaving behind an artistic, scientific, and cultural legacy that continues to shape the city’s identity today.

The campaign aims to position Milan as a premier cultural destination by inviting visitors to explore the places, works, and experiences inspired by Leonardo’s genius. Beyond its iconic landmarks, Milan also serves as an ideal gateway to Lombardy, a region renowned for its rich heritage, breathtaking landscapes, exceptional cuisine, and centuries-old traditions.

Following the presentation, guests enjoyed a selection of Lombard wines and specialties while discovering, through evocative imagery, the many facets of this captivating destination.

The evening marked the beginning of a series of initiatives dedicated to promoting Lombardy in Canada. This fall, the ICCC will host Lombardy Night, an immersive event designed for travel industry professionals, as well as a familiarization trip that will offer Canadian tour operators and media representatives the opportunity to experience the region firsthand.
