On May 14th, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada, in collaboration with the French Chamber of Commerce in Canada – CCIFC, hosted Cap sur l’Europe this morning, a breakfast conference bringing together entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, and institutional partners to discuss growth opportunities and market diversification in Europe.
In today’s economic climate — shaped by geopolitical shifts, supply chain challenges, and evolving international trade relationships — discussions highlighted the growing importance of economic ties between Canada and Europe. More than ever, Europe is emerging as a strategic partner for Quebec companies looking to diversify their markets and strengthen their competitiveness.
Participants also benefited from the insights of keynote speaker Hubert Bolduc, President of Investissement Québec International, who presented Quebec’s key strengths and the business and collaboration opportunities currently developing between Canada and Europe.
The morning also featured two Quebec companies with strong international reach: Jean-Simon Venne, Co-Founder of BrainBox AI and Philippe Hudon, Founder of Akonovia. Through their respective experiences, they shared perspectives on expanding into European markets, the challenges they encountered, and the lessons learned throughout their international growth journeys.
Beyond the discussions on stage, the event created valuable opportunities for dialogue and networking among members and partners from both Chambers in a collaborative and engaging atmosphere.
