L’Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (IRCM) is celebrated for its research accomplishments and expertise, as well as for its superior health services.

Its unique synergy allows for increased collaboration between researchers and practitioners from all around the globe. Since 1967, IRCM has continued to expand the boundaries of science to better understand and treat modern ailments and diseases.

Training the next generation of researchers is fundamental to the IRCM, as demonstrated by the hundreds of international students they welcome each year. Furthermore, the Institute’s clinic aptly combines research and ultra-specialized treatment to better treat its patients suffering from complex health issues.

Thanks to Dr. Emilia Liana Falcone, the IRCM has been a leading force in the study of COVID-19. In February of 2021, she founded the Post-Covid-19 Research Clinic, which examines the long-term effects of the virus, a feat which has garnered her praise and press the world over. As a matter of fact, world leaders often refer to her work when crafting public health measures. Dr. Falcone is also the Director of the Microbiome and Mucosal Defence Research Unit at the IRCM, which studies the microbiome’s role in triggering various immune system responses.
