Fabio Bruno is Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical, Energetics and Management Engineering (DIMEG), University of Calabria (UNICAL). He is cofounder and President at 3D Research s.r.l. a spin-off Company focused on the development of Remote Sensing and eXtended Reality technologies. His research interests include the development of robotic and digital technologies for the documentation, preservation and dissemination of underwater cultural and natural heritage.
He is the scientific coordinator of 3 EU funded projects: H2020-MSCA TECTONIC (www.tectonicproject.eu), Creative Europe CREAMARE (www.creamare.eu) and ART4SEA (www.art4sea.eu). He has coordinated various projects like: Interreg Med BLUEMED PLUS (https://bluemed.interreg-med.eu) and VISAS (www.visas-project.eu).
He had leading roles in many other EU projects like H2020 – iMARECULTURE (www.imareculture.eu), H2020-ECSEL-JU INSECTT (www.insectt.eu), CREA CROSS SECT INNOVLAB – MAREBOX (www.marebox.eu), EASME/EMFF Lab4Dive and DiveSafe ”(www.divesafe.eu), EASME MeDryDive (www.medrydive.eu). He co-autored more than 160 research papers.
