Désirée Tremblay, Eng. MBA – Dana TM4, InnovÉÉ

Manager, R&D partnerships and grants / Dana TM4

Ms Tremblay has been in the Electric Vehicle market for the past 19 years. She has held several positions with Dana TM4, a Canadian manufacturer of electric propulsion systems, including marketing, product strategy, project management, business development and account manager. During these years, she has supported Dana TM4 in building its business model in a rapidly evolving market. Within her current role as Manager of R&D partnerships and grants, she is responsible for negotiating research partnerships, IP agreements and consortiums for demonstrations of electric transportation technologies.

Throughout her career, Ms Tremblay has witnessed and helped shape the evolution of the local EV industry from its infancy as a niche market to its penetration into the mainstream. She has also experienced the challenges of financing R&D projects and synchronizing the commercial goals of for-profit companies with the longer-term objectives of R&D institutions and academia.

Passionate about stimulating the local EV and transport industry ecosystems, Ms Tremblay also serves on the board of the Institut du Véhicule Innovant, a college-based applied research institute specialized in EVs and autonomous vehicle technologies. She was also President of the board of InnovÉÉ, a non-profit organization whose goal is to encourage collaborative research in the fields of EV and energy production.  Finally, she also served on the board of the Pôle d’excellence en transport terrestre du Québec, also a non-profit organization whose main role was to encourage the economic development of the local transportation market.

Ms Tremblay has an expertise in financing, preparing grant proposals and building large and complex consortiums. Today, TM4 would like to share her experience and proven competence to the benefit of the transport industry in order to help catalyze innovation and partnerships. Ms Tremblay has two engineering degrees (chemical engineering and electrical engineering) and an MBA from the University of Sherbrooke.
