Dr Carl-\u00c9ric Aubin is a professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnique Montr\u00e9al, Researcher at Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center, and associate professor with the Department of Surgery at Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al. He holds two Chairs: the Canada Research Chair in Orthopedic Engineering and the NSERC-Medtronic Industrial Research Chair in Spine Biomechanics. Dr Aubin is also the responsible of the research axis on Musculoskeletal Health, Rehabilitation and Medtech at Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center, and he is the director of the Biomedical Science and Technologies Research Group.<\/p>\n
He was recently appointed Executive and Scientific Director of the TransMedTech Institute in biomedical engineering and medical technology, for which he was the leader in the obtention of a Canada First Research Excellence Fund (35.6 M$) and of 60 M$ in funding from many partners.<\/p>\n
Dr Aubin has published more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and edited books, and over 600 abstracts in conference proceedings, and has coauthored 7 patents. Dr Aubin belongs to many professional associations, including Quebec’s Engineering Professional Order. He is Fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society, a founding member of the International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopedic Surgery and Scientific Director of the Qu\u00e9bec Scoliosis Society.<\/p>\n
Dr Aubin has been awarded many grants from major organizations (NSERC, CIHR, CFI, FRQS, Canada First, etc.) and industrial partners, including a 7.4 M$ grant (from CFI\/MSSS-Qu\u00e9bec) for a multicenter research platform on musculoskeletal diseases and for a new operating room dedicated to research, which was inaugurated in January 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":869,"template":"","country":[86],"class_list":["post-873","speaker","type-speaker","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","country-canada-it"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
