Since October 2019, \u00c9ric Marquis is Assistant Deputy Minister for Bilateral Relations for the Qu\u00e9bec Department of International Relations. In that capacity he is responsible for 28 of Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s international offices and for coordinating relations between Qu\u00e9bec and several of its strategic partners in the Americas, Europe and Asia. From September 2017 to October 2019, Mr. Marquis was Assistant Deputy Minister for the United States, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.<\/p>\n
Prior to that, he was the Qu\u00e9bec Government Representative in Chicago from 2011 to 2017, where he was responsible for developing Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s trade, investment and political relations with 12 Midwestern states. He also served as Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s representative in Washington, DC, from 2004 to 2007 and in senior management positions at the Departments of International Relations and of Education. A graduate from the University of Victoria in British Columbia and Concordia University in Montr\u00e9al, he taught American history and American foreign policy in various Qu\u00e9bec universities, including the Qu\u00e9bec Institute of Advanced International Studies (IQHEI) at Universit\u00e9 Laval.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1144,"template":"","country":[84],"class_list":["post-1143","speaker","type-speaker","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","country-canada"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
