Francesca Zanella contemporary art historian at the University of Modena and Reggio. She has been member of the Scientific Committee of CSAC of the University of Parma, which she directed from 2015 to 2020, and she is member of the Scientific Committee of MoRE Museum of unrealized projects. She participates to the Bites research group of Iuav (Venice Biennial. Theories & Stories) and she is member of DHMoRe center of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
The main areas of research are the history of exhibitions and the role of the display, the history of Italian architecture and design and the archives of art and design.
He has curated exhibitions and related catalogues including Ettore Sottsass. Beyond Design (2017-18), 1968. A year (2018-19) and Design! objects, processes, experiences (2020-21), Andrea Branzi. Racconti di design (2023) and artist residency projects at CSAC of the University of Parma with Massimo Bartolini, Eva Marisaldi and Luca Vitone.
