Eat &Think Pink- From Tastings to SIAL Montréal, Quality European Pork for Québec Consumers

The appointment is from 15 to 17 May at the 2024 edition of Sial Canada.

At stand 5611.8, the European project ‘Eat&Think Pink – Say yes to the Best, Eat European Pork’ will bring the qualities of European pork to Canadian consumers: a product that respects the environment, animal welfare, and boasts the quality certifications required by European legislation under the Farm to Fork Strategy. Now in its second year, the project is a great success, acclaimed by catering operators, chefs and opinion leaders alike. Its presence at Sial Montreal 2024 is a further event that will complement the other initiatives already scheduled in Quebec: on 14 May a tasting event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Institut du Tourisme et de Hôtellerie (3535 Rue Saint-Denis) in Montreal, while on 15 May, another tasting session will be held in Quebec City at the Ecole Hôtelière de la Capitale (7 Rue Robert Rumilly) from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The events in Quebec are organised by Opas, the largest Italian cooperative which represents over 14% of the national pig farming industry and has 70 breeding partners, through the project’s Executive Agency, which relies on the valuable work of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Montreal.

The events scheduled in Quebec to promote European pork are, however, only a part of what the European project envisages; already in 2023, in fact, during the first year, in addition to Quebec, Eat&Think Pink events also involved the Provinces of Ontario and British Columbia. Dates are also planned for the coming months of 2024 with a presence in major outlets in various provinces of Canada.
