Montreal, June 10th, 2022 – On June 9th, 2022, three food boxes celebrating the authentic flavours and products of Emilia-Romagna were launched at an event held at Fiorellino on Laurier, in Montreal. An institutional delegation from the Emilia-Romagna region – renowned as one of the gastronomic capitals of the world – was also in Montreal from June 8th to 10th to help introduce this new initiative.
Over the course of the evening, influencers, bloggers, and the media were able to discover and taste the various products featured in the food boxes fulfilled by three local partners:
The “Emilia Pizza”, from Fiorellino: The Emilia Pizza is crafted with authentic ingredients that are sure to transport you directly to Emilia-Romagna after a single bite! These ingredients include Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, Prosciutto di Parma DOP, and Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP layered over freshly made passata di pomodoro.
“Les Saveurs de l’Emilia-Romagna” from La Réserve Culinaire: This meal box containing “ready-to-eat” meals features two recipes that elevate the region’s star products. As such, you will be able to savour Tagliatelle with a Parmigiano Reggiano DOP sauce and Mortadella Bologna IGP salpicon, as well as a Chicken Paupiette stuffed with Prosciutto di Parma DOP and Parmigiano Reggiano DOP.
“La Piadina Romagnola IGP” from La Baie des Fromages: In order to help its clientele discover the Piadina Romagnola IGP (also known as Piada Romagnola IGP), this specialized grocery store will showcase its main ingredients of Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, Prosciutto di Parma DOP, Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP, Mortadella Bologna IGP, and Provolone Valpadana DOP. The Piadina Romagnola IGP is not only a symbol of Romagnola cuisine, but also a very popular street food dish.
These food box options seek to increase the notoriety of authentic Emilia-Romagna products within the specific target audience of millennials, young professionals, and young families. The project also aims to educate its participants about the origins of each 100% “Made in Emilia-Romagna” ingredient in order to foster a deeper appreciation of the region’s traditions and specialities.
