Dear Members and Partners,
The coronavirus pandemic has completely changed the state of the global economy and of trade between Canada and the world. The ICCC is here to help you get through this difficult period, by supporting you and your international business strategies.
Reopening of Italy’s borders
As of June 3, the country, whose economy is very dependent on tourism, will lift the mandatory quarantine period for foreign visitors, thereby reopening its borders to European tourists, in order to revive this key sector as quickly as possible. It will also be possible for Italians to travel freely throughout the country. In addition, the government has lifted the ban on the movement of goods and trucking which will now once again be possible between regions.
Since May 4th, Italians have been in “phase 2” of deconfinement and have been given some freedoms thanks to a first partial lifting of restrictions. Factories, construction, shops, cafes and restaurants were allowed to reopen. So far, almost 75% of businesses have resumed operations.
